Wouldn't be surprised if Ruiz is Joshua's opponent, after Usyk rematch.

I just had a WHATSAPP message of a message to Fury from Wilder for their fight, followed by Fury's message back to Wilder.

Hillarious, must say if he is really like that he comes across as a nice regular fella. Also a good watch is the Gary Neville interview with Tyson Fury. Totally changed my mind on Fury in the last couple of years as he seems just a down to earth regular bloke.

Another thing that Bellew said about Usyk was this. Bellew liked to engage verbally with trsh talk to gain an edge but Usyk pretented not to understand English. He only realised that Usyk was playing the game in his own way when Usyk gave perfectly articulate interviews in English after their fight.

Bellew, for all his faults, is a tough man, let alone boxer. He said Usyk had him blowing out his 'arris after 6 rounds. Looking forward.. be interesting to see what Frank Warren's next move will be after Fury despatches that other gym poser Wilder.?
Frank Bruno had the heart of a lion, its an insult to Frank to compare him with that fraud

Lennox Lewis was excellent. He'd wipe the floor with AJ or Fury.

I agree. Joshua is a better boxer than Bruno was and he used to be lighter on his feet. He seems to think after the second Ruiz fight that he can beat anyone in a boxing match but he can't. Like Bruno he has does not have a great chin; in the fights Bruno lost he fell to bits as soon as he got hurt. As far as I can remember Bruno is the first person who hurt Mike Tyson but he didn't have boxing chops to finish it off. My favourite Brit of recent times is Carl Froch. Not the best boxer but stupendously fit, had a granite chin and never, ever gave up. He was still dangerous right to the end of the last round.

Re: Joshua vs Usyk

Joshua has never had, or looked like having, a legacy.
He is simply a fit, well conditioned big bloke, with a punch. Turned over by a fat Mexican mug and now given a boxing lesson by a wiley, blown up, cruiserweight.
If we want to talk about legacies of British heavies we need to go back to Lennox a man who could both box and punch. Lewis would have boxed Joshua’s ears off before stopping him.

Joshua is a very good boxer and better than almost anyone who criticises him, as others have said he’s made the most of his talent and you have to say fair play to him. But what he’s not is a great boxer - very few ever are, and there are probably none in the heavyweight division right now. Usyk may be the next, time will tell. And so what you are going to see is the titles sitting with one person for a while, then changing hands, then sitting there for a while and maybe someone who has had them before gets them back for a bit. Rinse and repeat.
What Joshua’s camp failed to do was capitalise when he was at the top - who knows whether he will get another chance but even so his legacy is tarnished now after two losses. It’s a harsh sport but it’s true. A few years ago they could have ridden the wave, recognising he wasn’t ever going to be the great he was being talked up as but realising what people wanted was a spectacle. Dodging the Fury fight now looks a massive mistake because he’s not going to get close now - and I don’t think Fury is a great boxer either (again, a very good one nonetheless) but there was a time the hype would have been incredible.
As for the Usyk fight what you saw was a lack of boxing intelligence. Hardly surprising when one guy had over 300 amateur fights and the other was rushed into being a pro after less than 50. There is a lesson in here for British boxing and it goes back to Audley Harrison, but they won’t learn. Of that we can be sure.

I've always thought that AJ overthinks things.
Sometimes you've got to get your head down and go for it from the first bell.
As Nelson famously said 'never mind manoeuvres, go straight at them'.

southbankbornnbred 12:34 Mon Sep 27 Re: Joshua vs Usyk Rob McCracken, Joshua's coach,
Never rated him, seen enough of him in how he coaches and speaks to his fighters, AJ should have left him years ago. Its why he never reached his potential.
